Join me and my friend, Karen, as we celebrate the winter solstice by photographing wintering Bald Eagles at Coeur d'Alene
Two sessions to choose from. Sign up for both sessions and get a $50 discount.
1) Welcome Winter - 7am - 11am

2) Solstice Sunset - 12:30 pm - 4:30 pm
Each session is limited to 10 people.

What to expect:
Diana and Karen will both be available to assist you with spotting bald eagles and dialing in your photography techniques to capture the exciting action of bald eagles foraging in the winter.
What to bring:
~ camera
~ lens with a minimum of 200mm focal length
~ tripod
~ extra batteries
~ extra memory cards
~ rain cover for your camera.
What to wear:
~ Dress in warm layers. Our day will start and end cold and we don’t
know what the Solstice day will bring us (except bald eagles)
~ Rain and/or snow jacket
~ Hat and gloves
~ Solid, protective footwear. We’ll be on asphalt, concrete, and/or
the gravely beach
~ Neck gater for wind protection
Getting here:
We’ll meet at Coeur d’Alene Parkway State Park parking lot (the parking area right past Higgens Point Boat Launch) on the north side of Coeur d’Alene Lake.
If you’re flying in, the nearest airport is the Spokane Airport (GEG). From there, you can rent a car and drive about 1 hr to our meeting location.
Driving from the north, west, or east of Coeur d’Alene, take the I-90 towards Coeur d’Alene. Exit E Coeur d’Alene Lake Dr and follow it to our meeting location.
Where we’ll go:
Once we’ve gathered, we’ll take a short walk along a paved trail, then continue along a dirt switchback to the beach so we have ample viewing opportunities from the shoreline.
